Writing Your Business Plan & Achieving Your Goals

I still remember the moment I started my now business and decided to write my business plan. My goals are big, and my business plan was the perfect way to break down my ideas and help turn them into reality.

I set up my computer on the dining room table and I started to write my business plan backwards.

As I mentioned, my goals are big and to get to the end goal, I figured the best way would be start there and work backwards to where I was at that moment.

I created a 5-year plan and I review my business plan at the end of every financial year to be ready for the next financial year.  It’s a nice way to see what I have also achieved so far.

What does my business plan have in it?

  • General Business & Company Structure Information
  • Target Market
  • Marketing Strategy – which is then used to create the Marketing Plan
  • Vision Statement & Mission Statement
  • Goals – Short Term & Long Term
  • Organisational Review
  • Products & Services
  • Innovation
  • Insurance Details
  • Risk Management
  • Operations
  • Market Research
  • Customer Demographics
  • S.W.O.T. Analysis
  • Competitors
  • Advertising & Sales
  • The Future – Action Plan
  • Finances – Profit & Loss Forecast

If you think that is details, my marketing plan is just as detailed.  Then I review this against my budget and use my business plan and marketing plan to plan my year, month, week and day.  There can never be enough information or planning, for me it’s called Manifesting.
